Part of your initial private session includes an assessment of postural alignment and addressing any structural problems or weaknesses. As a new client, you will have a unique Pilates program developed just for you, keeping in mind any pathologies or specific precautions! Pilates will help you gain the strength and flexibility in your body, especially in the spine by learning how to segmentally mobilize the spine in a safe way. Modifications are made for those of you who may have contraindications to certain exercises, such as loaded flexion due to Osteopenia or Osteoporosis. Being able to provide movement modifications are very important for Pilates participants. Having a knowledgeable instructor that can make the necessary adaptations to keep you safe is key. Pilates improves your confidence by improving your ability to move through a whole body workout safely and pain free!
